Which scale should I choose?

The best scale depends on your space and goals:

  • On30 — largest size, most visual detail
  • HOn3 / HOm — realistic narrow gauge layouts
  • HOn30 — compact HO-scale narrow gauge
  • Nn3 — smallest footprint for tight spaces

If you already model in HO or N, choosing a compatible system makes expansion easier.

What’s the difference between HOn3, HOn30, and HOm

These are all HO-scale narrow gauge systems, but with different track widths:

  • HOn3 (10.5mm) — represents 3’ gauge
  • HOn30 (9mm) — represents 2’ gauge
  • HOm (12mm) — represents meter gauge

Each offers a different balance of realism, size, and available space.

What is dual gauge track?

Dual gauge track uses three rails to allow standard gauge and narrow gauge trains to run on the same track.
