A Coach produced by Jackson & sharp company for the LIRR in 1879
16 coaches of this series were produced, each one numbered 51-66. One such coach, Number 54, was modified for a land speed record set by Charles "Mile-a-Minute" Murphy in June of 1899. Mr Murphy managed to use a the draft of a moving train to cycle a mile within 57 seconds.
The coaches seated 62 persons, and all were retired by 1913. The livery for this coach should have white or cream letters with the body being LIRR Coach Brown (A sort of darkish Maroon in color) with the corner posts being black. Roof can also be painted Black. Handrails will also need to be fashioned, and trucks are not yet supplied with this model. Decals will need to be sourced separately.
