GBC-B031 Utah Northern Railroad Four Wheel Freight Car Decal Set - HOn3, Sn3, On3
The Utah Northern Railroad was organized in 1871, less than a year after the Denver & Rio Grande Railway, intending to connect the Transcontinental Railroad with mining districts in Montana and beyond. Like most 1870s American narrow gauge railroads, it ordered the same rolling stock from Billmeyer & Smalls that the D&RG did - including four wheel freight cars. By September 1872 the company owned one four wheel boxcar, six four wheel flatcars, and three four wheel hopper cars. Boxcars were given even numbers, flatcars odd numbers, and the hoppers numbered in the 100-range. For some reason, Billmeyer & Smalls lettered the hoppers "Utah & Northern" even though the ampersand would not be used until the company was reorganized in 1878.
This waterslide decal set includes enough lettering to complete one boxcar, three flatcars and three dump cars. Available in HO, S and O scales.
