Beginning in 1898 with the formation of the Colorado and Southern Railroad, new cars were ordered from the St. Charles Car Works. Three types were delivered over the next several years each building an improvement over the last:

Type I   (1898-1900) Featured Truss Rods and Arch Bar Trucks.

Type II  (1900-1901) had newer Bettendorf Cast Steel Trucks.

Type III (1901-1910) ware comparable to standard gauge cars of the day with an all-steel underframe.

Other details varied amongst all the group's these were end doors, and three styles of roof (Wood double board, and Steel Murphy style with both 9-rib and 12-rib versions).

After abandonment in 1935 48 of these cars went to the RGS to be known as the "Miller Cars", While most of these boxcars were sold to the WP&Y and rebuilt. During this rebuild, the cars received new mineral paper roofs and an additional grab iron opposite the ladder.

We have produced 6 variations of these cars; two body variations; with end door or without. Along with your choice of the roof style; Original wood plank, or Murphy Steel in either the 9 or 12 rib versions.

These cars were owned by the following lines: C&S (Colorado & Southern) RGS (Rio Grande Southern), WP&Y (White Pass and Yukon).
They are available in the following Scales (Gauges): HO (HOn3), S (Sn3), O (On3, On30).

Our meticulously crafted models are engineered to replicate a 3' gauge prototype car with unparalleled accuracy. Each model is designed with utmost precision, reflective of the highest fidelity at the time of their unveiling. Structural elements may have been subtly augmented to enhance the robustness and durability of the printed model, executed discreetly to maintain authenticity. Given the 3' gauge foundation of these models, additional adjustments might be necessary to adapt them for narrower (n30) gauges or to navigate tighter-than-prototype curves. Should you require the model to accommodate a specific setting, we urge you to reach out to us prior to purchase, and we will be delighted to assist you to the fullest extent.
