Swing-motion freight car truck used on both Duluth and Iron Range and Duluth, Missabe and Northern equipment built prior to 1900. It comes standard with our HO-1000 series ore cars. We offer two different types of journal boxes on these trucks (see photos). Similar trucks were used throughout the US.

John P Lomenzo I had suggested in an email to Sam to create this truck. I had seen a prototype photo years ago of a Lehigh Valley automobile boxcar that was a clone of a B&O M-15D auto box. It was riding on Verona trucks. Recently I built a Westerfield model of the car and am thrilled to be able to add the trucks. The Westerfield kit contained only sideframes for the Veronas and constructing truck frames for them would have very difficult. I am very satisfied with the Zenith castings. I added Intermountain 33-inch wheelsets and they ride very well. The trucks look very close to the prototype. It's a job well done.
