This model is based on a sketch made by Moncure Robinson (civil engineer) of a flour wagon built for the Petersburg Railroad in 1832. These primitive open gondolas were intended to carry barrels of flour, but were used to carry just about anything in the pre-boxcar era. Similar cars were used by several early roads, and indeed continued to be used for gravel and ballast duties by some roads well into the 19th century.
These are printed in pairs and can be fitted with 33" or 36" wheels on NMRA standard pinpoint axles (approx 26mm). Wheels and freight load not included in print.
