1850 Passenger Car Body for Mantua/Tyco Chassis HO Scale

This kit is meant to fit on the Mantua/Tyco "Old Time" or "1860 Coach" chassis. It is well known that this chassis is unusually short in length for prototypical 1860's passenger cars, however it is just about the perfect length for passenger cars of the late 1840s and early 1850s. This model does not represent a specific prototype, but resembles generally the typical passenger car built for American railroads from about 1850 to 1855. Details and proportions were referenced from several early photographs and plans, and the model is generally appropriate for the period of about 1848 through 1870.
