This is a kit of parts for converting the Mantua/Tyco "General" 4-4-0 model into a model of a c. 1850 Norris locomotive. The kit is intended to fit the chassis and running gear of the Mantua/Tyco locomotive. Due to design variations in the Mantua/Tyco chassis over its long production run, some parts of this kit may require additional filing to attain a perfect fit. This kit is therefore recommended for experienced modellers only. Included in the kit are the boiler shell, cab, and stack. The boiler and stack are hollow to allow for adding weights.
If issues with driving wheels rubbing the "splashers" occurs, fitting a shim under the cab floor should work as a solution.

No fault of the designer of this body, the smoke stack was not fully cured, it was still very flexible and had sticky spots, and some liquid inside of it. I thankfully already have a handheld blacklight to finish curing it. Inside the boiler also needed more curing, however that is understandable as its a hard place to reach without overcuring the outside parts, after cleaning in alcohol and curing, and fixing a minor warp, they are fantastic quality.
A for the designer and the body, great ingenuity went into fitment.
The boiler gives some room for you to file away extra material if needed at the cylinders, and the cab can be adjusted to move backwards or forwards to allow it to fit on different chassis variations, these additions are very appreciated, i look forward to ordering more of his work.
Well designed and printed, fit the Mantua chassis with very little filing.

I ordered both the 1850 Norris Steam Locomotive Body Kit and a LIRR closed platform coach. While I have not assembled them yet, I have looked at the kits and am impressed with the quality and lack of flash on the parts. These are the best work I have seen and look forward to adding them and perhaps others to my collection of Long Island Rail Road models.
