The standard hinged mine car often used in the copper and tin mines of Cornwall, this style of ore car was brought over by Cornish Miners to the United States in the early 19th century. The prototype for this car had 12 cubic foot capacity and was used at the Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee, Arizona as early as 1880 and remained in use in the mine until closure in the 1970s. Just like the pasty, wherever Cornish miners could be found, this type of car would follow. This is a static model meant for use on 18" gauge track.
