Built in the Pacific Coast Railway’s shops in San Luis Obispo from a 1918 Ford touring car. Model based on drawings by Curtis Johnson in the book The Pacific Coast Railway; Central California’s Premier Narrow Gauge. Model consists of 3D-printed resin body scaled up to O from the original N-scale version at the request of a customer. The Nn3 version was designed to fit a four-wheel 6.5mm gauge power truck from Showcase Miniatures with one axle removed, as shown in the exploded diagram of the N-scale construction. Modeler will need to provide 16.5mm gauge power truck, such as those avail, front wheelset, screws, brass wire, clear windshield glazing and fabricate mount and front bumper from sheet brass. It is recommended a lead or other metal weight be added to the top of the power truck. See instructions. Prototype was painted boxcar red. Rear curtain should be painted a canvas color.
