The Delaware & Hudson Canal Company purchased one hundred 34-foot boxcars from the Jackson & Woodin Manufacturing Company in the 1880s, numbered 6900 through 6999. This set letters two complete cars.

Unfortunately the D&H company records were lost in an office fire around 1890 so we do not know the year these cars were built.
