The Chicago & North Western Railroad is one of the oldest midwestern railroads. This decal set works for cars built in the 1860s through 1870s and operating into the early 1880s. Letters six models in two unique styles.
C&NW cars entered interchange very early in railroad history. Photographs show them in CB&Q yards in the early 1870s and even as far west as Echo, Utah on the Union Pacific in 1868 before the Transcontinental Railroad was even completed! An interchange agreement with the Pacific railroads meant that C&NW cars could reach the coast of California over the Central Pacific, so these are very versatile cars that will work well on any layout set between 1860 and 1885 anywhere in the country.
