The Montpelier & Wells River Railroad was chartered in Vermont in 1867 and constructed slowly over the course of the next decade. Its boxcars incredibly appear to be identical to those used by the Central Pacific, so this decal set will work well with the Bitter Creek Models 25' boxcar kit (not included)! Letters four cars total.
Poor's Manual of Railroads in 1870 lists no rolling stock and in 1876 says that the company leased its cars from connecting lines; however, a photograph of a sawmill taken in the mid-1870s indicates that the M&WRRR did indeed own its own boxcars.
