The Union Pacific system went bankrupt in 1896; as part of the recovery, its subsidiary Oregon Short Line & Utah Northern was reorganized as the Oregon Short Line railroad in 1897, deviating from the Union Pacific painting standards it followed previously. This decal set letters two complete cars.
