This product is a direct replacement for the American Models GP-9 fuel tank. It represents an EMD freight version fuel tank used on first generation EMD General Purpose diesel locomotives from the GP-7 through the GP-20. It mounts directly on the American Models locomotive frame using the same single screw mounted from the bottom. It should be noted that the stock fuel American Models fuel tank represents the passenger version tank and had a different profile contour.
