The original version of this kit, LLW-SPX17A1, was designed as a multi-piece kit made of MJF printed nylon and fitted to a Halling Vario drive. The new On30 version here has been modified to fit an HO scale Kato P42 power truck. And thanks to improvements with 3D printing, we've managed to produce this kit as a two part affair; the upper body that slots over the frame. There are three primary versions to the 40hp Simplex as built for the British Army in World War I. We're categorizing them as such;

The armored version, with it's fully enclosed body. Externally that version appeared identical, but was built of thicker platework to better protect against shrapnel and bullets.

The protected version, which retained side doors and a different cupola of sorts that didn't restrict visibility as much

The open version, which omitted the side doors entirely. 

Of course with all of that we have five versions. Obviously with no doors for the open version, there's only one. However both the protected and armored version have variants modeled with open or closed doors. All of these come with the same lower frame assembly, which is designed to accept Kadee 242 coupler pockets.

While perfectly usable for On30, it should be noted that the model was designed around the 1:43.5 scale ratio common in British O scale.
