Originally built by Baldwin in 1909/1911 for the N-C-O and acquired by the Pacific Coast in 1928 for use on the Pacific Coast Railway on California’s central coast. Locomotive No. 110 had Stephenson valve gear while locomotive No. 111 had Walschaerts valve gear. This kit consists of 3D-printed resin parts to convert a Bachmann #28901 DCC/Sound equipped On30 Baldwin 4-6-0 locomotive to either 110 or 111. The locomotive superstructure is available separately; this kit is for the tender only.

The builder will need to provide the Bachmann loco tender, screws, handrail stanchions, brass wire for railings and handrails, LED lamps, resistor, paint and decals. See the book “The Pacific Coast Railway- California’s Premiere Narrow Gauge” by Curtis Johnson for prototype drawings and photos.

Two versions of the tender are available separately: “Tender 1” includes a prototypical length tender body and a tender frame/floor. The builder must transfer trucks, contacts, coupler, decoder, and speaker from the Bachmann tender; “Tender 2” includes a shortened tender body (20” shorter than the prototype and Tender 1) designed to fit the Bachmann tender frame/floor. (Some filing/grinding of the Bachmann tender frame/floor is required.)
