3D Printed Kit

Originally built by Baldwin in 1909/1911 for the N-C-O and acquired by the Pacific Coast in 1928 for use on the Pacific Coast Railway on California’s central coast. Locomotive No. 110 had Stephenson valve gear while locomotive No. 111 had Walschaerts valve gear. This kit consists of 3D-printed resin parts to convert one Bachmann N-scale 4-6-0 model to either 110 or 111 in TTn3. The builder will need to provide the Bachmann loco, screws for attaching the tender shell to the tender frame, a Micro Trains Line N-scale coupler, Gold Medal Models etched handrail stanchions, brass wire for railings, LED lamps, resistor, paint and decals. (See Instructions.) See the book “The Pacific Coast Railway- California’s Premiere Narrow Gauge” by Curtis Johnson for prototype drawings and photos.

This kit looks like it's scaled up from the Nn3 version, when you open the link for the TT scale kit the instructions for the Nn3kit. Unfortunately there are differences between the two that weren't addressed. The tender won't fit the Bachmann 4-6-0 chassis, on the Bachmann the tender uses a cast metal frame with integral steps, so I'm going to have to try to butcher the new tender body to see if it will work. And the cab roof is off, the arch of the roof is different than the arch of the front and rear walls and there are some pretty bad gaps. A one piece cab would have been nice. the boiler and backhead are very well done, they fit the mechanism but it looks like the cab is going to be a scratch/bash project.
