One of 10 thirty-foot-long ex-Florence & Cripple Creek box cars with even numbers 1500 – 1518 built in 1900 by the American Car & Foundry shops, acquired by the PCRy in 1928. Model based on drawings by Curt Johnson in the book “The Pacific Coast Railway – Central California’s Premier Narrow Gauge”.
Model includes 3D-printed body and floor. Modeler must supply Micro Trains Line 905 body-mount couplers, Micro Trains Line 004 02 400 arch-bar trucks, 00-90 x 1/4” screws (2), Micro Trains N 49905911 (1089) Peacock Vertical Brake wheel, .012” brass wire for steps and brake staff, and Berkshire Junction EZ Line (or generic “knitting-in elastic”) for truss rods. Recommend replacing MTL wheelsets with Fox Valley (Scale Trains) metal wheelsets.
