RGS 4-6-0 20

On30 Rio Grande Southern style 4-6-0 [SJP-St20]

These are conversion parts to help turn the Bachmann On30 4-6-0 into a close-ish model of the Rio Grande Southern #20. Because the Bachmann prototype is between 10%-20% bigger than the #20 this is not an exact model and some compromises were made to make it look right and still fit without cutting up the chassis. (Plus, the valve gear is totally wrong for the RGS #20.)

This PN includes a boiler, with domes and stack and the smokebox front. It reuses the drawbar attachment from under the cab and can use the original headlight mounting bracket and other details from the donor On30 4-6-0. You will need three M1.6x10 screws and nuts to mount the boiler. The cab can be mounted re-using the original mounting screws, M1.6 screws, or 0-80 screws.  There are provisions for 3/32” Tungsten rods to stiffen and add weight to the boiler shell.

Also available are an RGS#20 style cab (P/N SJP-Cb08), a “bent” pilot that uses Kadee 803 On3 couplers (P/N SJP-Ax20), a correct length RGS style tender (P/N SJP-Tn08).
