Tamiya 1:48 CCKW banjo axles

Product Description

This is a set of "banjo" or "corporation" axles for the Tamiya CCKW 2-1/2 ton truck kit (32548) and the Airfield Fuel Truck kit (32579).  They replace the one-piece Timken "split axle" drivetrain, and add the option to pose the front wheels at an angle as if steering.  You will need to cut off all the prop shafts from the kit part and add them to the new axles after gluing the axles in place on the springs.  The Tamiya wheels should be a simple press-fit on these new axles.  Note that there is a new transfer case to replace the kit part.  Please note the kit frame has no locating marks for the front springs, so use the intact axle part to act as a jig to locate and glue the springs to the frame before removing and cutting it up for the prop shafts!  This is important, as there is no other way to accurately locate the new banjo front axle if the springs are not in place first.

2 steering hubs (for front axle)

1 steering tierod

1 transfer box with brackets

1 pillowblock (sits on middle axle, connects rear axle prop shaft to main prop shaft)

2 link bars (connect rear axles to frame crossmember to limit sideways movement)

1 transverse link bar for rear bogie
