Skips ran on rails on inclined shafts in mines. They were used to raise ore and rock and lower supplies into the mine. This small wooden skip is based off of one depicted in a painting at the Wyandotte Mine near Rachel, Nevada in 1879. There are two variants offered, one with a raised bail, to depict a car that is dumping, and a lowered bail, for one that is resting or in use. This static model is meant for 22" scale track, so HO Gauge would use Z (6.5mm) gauge track, S scale would use N (9mm), and O scale would use HOm (12mm). This kit would pair well with our counterbalanced windlass kit.
